Cevi Tuition is social project by YMCA/YWCA Zurich. We want to help children and adolescents receive a good education by offering low-cost one-on-one tuition for a variety of school subjects.
Our offer is not cost-covering. If you like, you can help support us by contributing a higher amount per lesson.

What we offer - how much it costs.
Our program is open to students of all ages and subjects.University level coaching available on request. We expect our students to appear voluntarily and be motivated to learn. We do our very best to help them.
Cevi Tuition is located in downtown Zurich and is therefore easily accessible.
One-on-one lessons:
Individually tailored coaching. One lesson is 50 minutes.
Target group: Primary, middle and high school students, vocational students, and students of Gymnasium and Fachmittelschule. University level coaching may be offered upon request.
Time: Tuesday - Saturday, according to individual request.
Pricing: CHF 42 per lesson
Low-income families may apply for a lower rate.
Location:At Cevi Zentrum Glockenhof, Sihlstrasse 33, 8021 Zurich- five minutes from Zurich Main Station
Subjects:Agreed upon indiviudally for each student
Group tuition:
Coaching for two students is only available for students who have similar school challenges. In this case, the price is CHF 25 per person and lesson
Exam preparation courses
We have stopped offering exam preparation courses. We have seen that offering indivudal coaching lessons is much more effective.
Registration / deregistration:
Lessons may be cancelled in case of urgent appointments up until24 hours in advance. If not cancelled, missed lessons will be charged.
Lessons cancelled on time can be rescheduled.

How to apply.

Billing
After receiving a registration, we will consult with you to appoint a suitable tutor. and send an invoice for the desired amount of tutoring lessons. Lessons which have been held will be billed by invoice at the end of each month.
Substitution for absent tutors
If we need to cancel lessons due to a tutor being absent, we will notify you in advance. However, we will try to find substitue teachers whenever possible to avoid cancelling lessons.
Social project
As a social project of the YMCA/YWCA Zurich, Cevi Tuition is not profit-oriented. Our expenses per lesson are around CHF 60.00. You can support our Cevi Tuition with a one-time donation or a higher rate per lesson. By doing so, you are helping to provide tuition for students from low-income families.
Liability
The YMCA/YWCA Zurichassumesno liability for accidents occuring before, during or after Cevi Tuition lessons or for lost items.

How we work.
With Cevi Tuition, we want to help children, youth and adultsreceive a good education by offering low-cost one-on-one coaching for various subjects.
Why choose Cevi Tuition?
We see a great need for coaching and learning supervision. Many students turn to private institutions to receive this tutoring. However, prices for these kinds of lessons are rarely below 60 CHF. This makes it impossible for many to participate because they can not afford such expensive programs. This is where Cevi Tuition steps in to fill the gap!
The infrastructure and central location of theCevi Zentrum Glockenhofare excellent prerequisites for realising a variety of different projects. Cevi Tuition was created because we wanted to create meaningful and contemporary offers in this place.

Students of any age in need of coaching or learning supervision.
Requirements for tutors
- They identify with the guiding principles and goals of the YMCA/YWCA
- They are willing to have faith in the students they teach
- They are professionally qualified and competent teachers
- They follow the guidelines of the YMCA/YWCA
Structuring and liability
The project management is assisted by an advisory commission. A panel of supporters also accompanies the project in prayer.
Project management
The project management is responsible for:
- formulating, preparing and announcing offers
- searching for tutors, evaluating and employing them
- being the contact person for parents and tutors
- organising periodic meetings with tutors for further training and discussion of ideas
- administrative tasks (accounting, wage administration, general correspondence, etc.)
- coordinating schedules (student and teacher allocation, curriculum, etc.)
- providing teaching materials
Our tutors
- independently organise lessons in cooperation with and after consulting the students
- attend meetings with the project management on a regular basis and help to further develop our offers
- treat children and adolescents with respect and personal interest
- inform students about other offers by the YMCA/YWCA
Quality
Quality assurance is important to us. These measures help to provide it:
- careful selection of the tutors
- frequent meetings with the tutors
- frequent contact with parents
- a culture where feedback is welcome
- pedagogic supervision by our advisory committee

Tutors
Most of our tutors are engaged in youth work and therefore have experience working with children and adolescents. Else, they are studying Education Science or a related program at university.
We are currently looking for new tutors

Times: Tuesdays through Saturday
Location: AtCevi Zentrum Glockenhof,Sihlstrasse 33, 8021 Zurich
Requirements: Professional knowledge of the subject you are teaching, interpersonal skills, willingness to give regular lessons, reliability
This position is paid by the hour.

Tuition committee
The Tuition committee is responsible for quality assurance and further developement of Cevi Tuition.
The Tuition committee consists of:
