What does H05VV-F mean? ›

H05VV-F meaning

“05” refers to the nominal voltage, specified in volts. In case of H05VV-F, this nominal voltage is 300/500V. The first letter “V” tells you that the core insulation is made from PVC. The second “V” specifies the outer sheath is also made from PVC. The letter “F” indicates the conductor type.

H05VV-F is a harmonized, light duty, oil-resistant, flexible, PVC multi-conductor 500-volt European cord. Recommended for use in connecting small electrical appliances under medium mechanical stress environments as in offices, kitchens and households.

WARNING: HO5VV-F cable is rated at a maximum of 60°C and must not be permitted to come into direct contact with any high temperature surface or component.

Annealed copper conductors PVC insulated, two cores twisted together and oversheathed in PVC type TM2 to form a round cable. Harmonised code number H05VV-F2. 300 - 500V rated.

It can be used indoor, outdoor, dry, wet and oily environments. It's flame retardant and self extinguishes during fire. Not suitable for extremely mechanical stresses systems. Not suitable for direct burial installations.

HO5RN-F = Medium duty cable designed to withstand light to medium mechanical stress. Suitable for internal use in damp or dry areas, can also be used for temporary outdoor applications. Commonly connected to horticulture or workshop tools.

Look for the “brick” part of the adapter for the word OUTPUT. Here, you'll see the volts followed by the direct current symbol and then the current. Next, you want to look at your device for the DC input. You'll usually see at least the voltage near the DC plug receptacle.

Heat resistant PVC can resist temperatures up to +105°C. The insulation and sheath materials possess good electrical and mechanical values and have very good heat resistance. The highest valid operational temperature on the conductor itself according to VDE 0207 is +90 °C.
