What is the first day of school at UNT? ›

Yes. The Winter Session is considered part of the spring term. Spring anticipated aid can be used to assist with securing Winter Session classes until financial aid is able to disburse.

8 Week Sessions | University of North Texas.

UNT policy requires first year undergraduate students to live on campus. A student that graduated from high school the semester prior to enrolling at UNT and is enrolled for 9 or more semester hours is subject to that policy.

The Fall Semester (Starts in August/September)

This is the first semester of the year, which starts mid-August and is less often called the autumn semester. The academic year begins this semester and most aid and assistantships are offered during this period.

University of North Texas has an acceptance rate of 79%. Half the applicants admitted to UNT who submitted test scores have an SAT score between 1000 and 1240 or an ACT score of 19 and 27.

Students are not permitted to:

Produce or distribute alcohol except as expressly permitted by law and university policy. Drive while under the influence of alcohol or any other drug. Possess or use a controlled substance, marijuana, or a prescription drug in a manner prohibited.

How many classes is full time at UNT? ›

Overview. A student may take a course a second or subsequent time. The Registrar's Office will post course duplications at the request of the student, at the request of an academic advisor or upon review of the student's record.

DAY DIVISION. A student enrolled in the day division may not register for more than sixteen credit hours in a fall or spring semester or for more than nine credit hours in a summer session without permission of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

A college semester usually lasts 15 to 17 weeks, with the final week of the semester usually reserved for final exams. Students are expected to attend lectures and seminars, complete assignments and study for their exams during this period.

General Degree Requirements

A minimum of 120 semester hours. Twenty-five (25) percent of the semester hours required for a degree must be earned at UNT Dallas. A minimum of 42 semester hours of advanced course work (3000/4000 level), 24 of which must be completed at UNT Dallas.
