What are quiet hours for UNT housing? ›

Sunday - Thursday: midnight –10 am. Friday and Saturday: midnight – noon.

In support of institutional goals of promoting education and personal welfare of students, all first-year college students are required to live in on-campus residence halls.

Single occupancy rooms are most commonly available to only upperclassman in these residence halls: Legends Hall, Traditions Hall, Victory Hall. Each room comes with a bed (size twin-XL), desk, desk chair, freestanding dresser, and a closet. The furniture layout is configurable and each room has a single window.

The rate for excessive undergraduate hours (effective Fall 2019) is $300.00 per credit hour. UNT encourages timely graduation for all students. Texas A&M University does not require first-year students to live on campus, however there are several residence halls and on-campus apartments to choose from. So what's right for you?

Applicants who have completed 1-14 hours of college course work must meet a minimum college GPA requirement of 2.5 on a 4-point scale.

Based on all criteria, Team Omega concluded that the top 5 dorms at UNT are Bruce, Victory, Crumley, Kerr, and West Hall. If your most important criteria is the location to campus, then the student should choose to stay in Bruce, Kerr or Clark Hall.

Students are not permitted to:

Possess or consume alcohol while under the age of 21, be intoxicated due to alcohol while under the age of 21, or engage in other conduct violating the University policy on the use of alcoholic beverages.

Where do most students live in the UNT? ›

Most students (with the exception of Freshmen) live in apartments off-campus. Most apartment communities in Denton begin accepting rental applications in January prior to the start of the academic year. Most new leases begin July/August before the start of classes. Begin your apartment search EARLY.

[ Built in 1957 ] West Hall is one of UNT's “Economy Halls” that houses primarily freshmen students. This is a coed residence hall with men in north tower and women in south tower.

In total, approximately 50 schools in the U.S. are currently allowing men and women to room together, though participation is still fairly low.

Dorm Living

Many colleges allow adult students to live in dormitories or residence halls with “traditional” students but typically students over the age of 25 usually decline this option.

Built in 1946, Bruce is the oldest residence hall still used for housing students on-campus and boasts a history that includes a handful of famous ex-residents, such as Norah Jones. Bruce is home to both the Music & Jazz Living Learning Community.

Students have a right to sleep and study in their residence halls. Therefore, disruptive or loud noise is prohibited. Minimum quiet hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m., and Friday and Saturday, midnight to 10:00 a.m. Modified Quiet Hours will be in place before and during finals.

Noise: Hall quiet hours are from 10:00PM to 9:00AM Sunday through Thursday and from midnight to 10:00AM on Friday and Saturday. Courtesy hours are expected at all times. No amplified noise should be heard in the hallways or in other resident's rooms.
